He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew J. Gilbert and Opal Baswell. He is survived by: his wife Diana Kay Gilbert; his sons, Donald E. Gilbert, Jr. (Alyce) and Gregory Keith Gilbert (Trisha); and his grandchildren, Chris Gilbert, Katelyn Gilbert, Molly Demetrius (Brandon), Cody Gilbert and Colton Gilbert.
