He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Cooney and Rosalie Heinzen Cooney; and his brother Timothy Cooney. He is survived by: his wife Nicolette Kontoulas Cooney; his daughter Tara; his son-in-law Joseph Jr. Bogozan of Douglasville; his son Stephen M. Cooney of Winston; his sister Barbara; his brother-in-law Rob Gribbroek of Sebastian; his brothers, John Cooney of Vero Beach and Patrick Cooney of Chicago; and his grandchildren, Abigail Bogozan and Landon Bogozan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jones-Wynn - Villa Rica Chapel (306 Westview Dr, Villa Rica, GA 30180). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel (306 Westview Dr, Villa Rica, GA 30180).
