He is survived by: his parents, Michael David Barnett and Rebecca Shane Gaines; his partner Taylor Neal of Winterville; his children, Scarlett Carney of Braselton and Asher Barnett of Winterville; his brother Trace Newsome of Winterville; his grandfather G. B. Newsome of Washington; his aunts, Susan Kenimer (Henry) of Nicholson, Sherri Allen of Nicholson and Shannon Thomason of Wrens; and his uncle Burt Newsome (Margaret Rae) of Washington. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
