She was predeceased by: her parents, Ebbie Lassiter and Jimmie Lassiter; her husband Marable "Dan" McCarty; and her children, James "Danny" McCarty and Cynthia Boone.

She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Kong and Terri Hooks; and her grandchildren, Sonja Tarr (Chris), Bridgette Kong (Morgan) of Michael Martin, DJ, Timothy Hooks (Taylor Gay), Jessica Millwood and Michelle Porter (Steven). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
