She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Charles Pelham Ward and Sarah Jane Bullock Ward; her sisters, Jane Hall and Bette Stallings; her son James E Gant, Sr.; her nephew Michael Stallings; and her niece Leslie Currie.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Bronson Gant, Jr. and S. Claire Gant Housholder; her grandchildren, Amanda G. Biggs, James E. Gant Jr., Heather Gant Darby, J. Michael Gant, Bryan D. Gant, S. David Gant, Michelle Housholder Provost and Donald M. Housholder; her stepson Bill Harris; her stepgrandson Brent Harris; and her nieces and nephews, Nancy W. Virts, Jane H. Hix, Beth H. Burgess, John Ward, Ward Hall, David Stallings Jr., Craig Stallings, Brian Stallings and Todd Stailings. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
