She was predeceased by: her son Barry L. Hix; her parents, Olin Lee and Carmie Ruth Gilreath; and her brothers, Brad and David Gilreath.

She is survived by: her husband Waymon Leroy Hix; her son Timothy Hix (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Cody Hix (Christina), Corey Hix (Kasie), Brooke Hall, Tyler Hix, Karissa Payton, Ryan Hix, Kayla Hix and Rusty Hix. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
