She was predeceased by: her parents, Leaston Harper and Thelma Batten Harper; her husband John Harold Merritt; her son Johnny Dewayne Merritt; and her brother Edsel Harper.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Gail Arnold; and her grandchildren, Cory Merritt, Lindsey Merritt, Casey Merritt, Cameron Ray, Chandler Arnold and Zachary Arnold. She is also survived by 12 Great Grandchildren.
