She was predeceased by : her parents, Millard J. Cates and Mattie Sue Nelson Cates; her son James Roger Mitchell; and her brother Donald Lee Cates. She is survived by : her daughters, Karen Wood (Bill) of Yatesville, GA and Cindy Edwards (Monica) of Norcross, GA; her brother Thomas Andrew Cates of Newborn, GA; and her grandchildren, Samantha DeArmond (Clint Friar), Chad Power (Tabitha), Shana Mann, Sandy Stevens (Connor) and Brock DeArmond. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
