He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lloyd Allan Burtness and Sylvia Sather Burtness; his wife Alana Underwood Burtness of Young Harris; his children, Aaron (Jamie Burtness), Jesse Burtness, Meggan (Nick NightShoot), David Burtness, Derrick Shields, Daniel Shields of Great Falls, MT. and McKenna Killian of Blairsville; his grandchildren, Alaric, Greyson and Finley; his brother Larry Burtness of Minneapolis, MN.; his stepmother Betty Burtness; and his father-in-law Harold Underwood of Blairsville.
