It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Clara Uechi of Captain Cook, Hawaii, born in Honaunau, Hawaii, who passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Fred Uechi. She is survived by : her children, Barbara Uechi (Steve McGee) of Kona, Melvin Uechi (Sharon) of Las Vegas, NV, Lester Uechi (Gill Eklof) of San Francisco, CA and Jason Uechi (Heidi) of Montclair, NJ.; her grandchildren, Brede Shiotsuka, Mallory Uechi-Grigg, Erik Eklof, Yetta Eklof and Kai Uechi; her siblings, Tadashi Matsuda, Shigeto Matsuda, Paul Matsuda, Jacob Matsuda, Carl Matsuda, Mildred Shindo and Matt Matsuda; and her close friend Happy II. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 9th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple (81-6630 Mamalahoa Hwy, Kealakekua, HI 96750).
