As George Joji departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved George Joji. Though George Joji may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his caregivers, Arsenio and Thelma Lopez of Hilo; his siblings, Roy Shigenaga (Eunice) of Hilo, Annelinda Mellon of California and Sandrea Maldonado (Albert) of Pepeekeo; and his sister-in-law Nancy Shigenaga of Las Vegas, Nevada. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel (199 Wainaku St, Hilo, HI 96720). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
