It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gustavus Morante of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii, who passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his children, Hana Morante (Mahealani), Roseanna Morante (Anthony Delaries), Megan Morante (David Cassidy Jr.), Travis Morante (Sheena Pinnow), Dione Hess, Dawn Hess, Zhonna Nobriga-Soares (Bubba), Zasha Nobriga, Sheena Simons (Kenneth), Tarcel Lewis and Daniel Lewis; and his siblings, Clayton Morante (Pauline), Manuel Morante (Kim), Ronnie Morante (Shannon) and Pamela Morante. He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
