It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lawrence John Balberde of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Pepeekeo, Hawaii, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by : his wife Vivian A. Balberde; and his children, Lawrence Balberde (Judy), Garrett Balberde (Laura), Paul Balberde (Cerila), Natalie Thornhill (Perry) and Jo Anne Balberde-Kamali'i (Richard). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; in addition to numerous cousins.
