With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lillie Yuriko Tsuchiya of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Papaikou, Hawaii, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lillie left this world on January 13, 2026 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She is survived by: her son Burt Tsuchiya (Amy) of Hilo; her sisters, Yasuko "Jean" Yanaga of Aiea and Lucille Takemoto of Hilo; and her brothers-in-law, Toshi Miura of Hilo and James Burkhart of San Jose. She is also survived by Two Grandchildren Numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan and Buddhist Women's Association, HGEA Retirees, RSVP Pomaikai, Professional Secretaries International (PSI), East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai, Yamanashi Kenjin Kai, Japanese Community Association of Hawaii, and the Hawaii Japanese Center.
