We are sad to announce that on December 6, 2023, at the age of 98, Masae Mende of Hilo, Hawaii passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by : her children, Derrick Mende (Eileen) of Hilo, Lester Mende (Linda) of Hilo, Jay Mende of Hilo and Rhonda Sakai of Honolulu; her daughter-in-law Janice Mende of Honolulu; and her brother Shigeru Matsushita of Honolulu. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Family requests no flowers and no koden (monetary gifts).
