It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mataichi Kosora of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on September 26, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by : his wife Catherine "Katie" Kosora of Hilo, HI; his son John Shintaro Kosora of Las Vegas, NV; and his brother Jerry Kosora (Betty) of Keaau, HI. He is also survived by cousins, and a niece and nephew.
He was a retired nurseryman; USMC Korean War veteran, a University of Hawaii Alumnus, Peace Corps Volunteer-Guatemala '63-'65, Staff Peace Corps Training Center - Hilo, Job Corps - Volcano, Agency for International Development - Vietnam and a volunteer with RSVP Hawai'i County.
The family requests casual attire and no flowers.
