With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Neki Kauhi Jr. of Hilo, Hawaii, who passed away on July 1, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his children, Uilani Costa of Hilo, Grant Kauhi (Anne), Jason Kauhi (Lynelle) of Hilo and Brandon Kauhi of Kona; his sisters, Helen Henderson of Hilo, Rossina Kauhi of Kona, Lei Kapahu of Oahu, Eva Yamabe (Stan) of Hilo, Janice Maldonado (Anthony) of Hilo, Lorene Hough (James) of Hilo, Evonne Kaloi of Hilo, Harriet Kuulei Wilton (Mike) of Utah and Miriam St (Ken); and his siblings-in-law, Gale Lee Loy (Sam) of Oahu, Caron Tachibana (Clyde) of Hilo and Bradford Camara of Oahu. He is also survived by six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel (199 Wainaku St, Hilo, HI 96720). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. (110 Laimana St, Hilo, HI 96720).
