He is survived by : his wife Ruth Ouye of Hilo; his daughters, Sharon Wuerl (Douglas) of Washington State, Cathy Kim (Tom Saccomanno) of Hilo, Jamie Aina of Hilo and Bobbi Wilson of Hilo; his sisters, Hatsuyo Yamashita of Honolulu and Kiyoko "Kay" Doi of Hilo; and his siblings-in-law, Charles Ota (Gladys) of Hilo, Yukie Kunihiro of Hilo, Dorothy Burton (James) of Hawaiian Beaches, Lorraine Hashimoto (Gordon) of Hilo, Mayumi Ota of Hilo, Shizuho Ota of Hilo, Ellen Okimura of Hilo and Laura Ota of Hilo, Seven.
