She was predeceased by: her husband Masaru Shindo; and her sons, Calvin Shindo and Howard Shindo. She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Kawahara (Mel) of Hilo; her daughter-in-law Karen Shindo of Hilo; and her sister Kaoru "Kay" Ishii of Honomu. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
