It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Tom Kazuharu Takeya of Hilo, Hawaii, born in Hakalau, Hawaii, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by : his wife Sandra Takeya of Hilo; his son Norman Takeya (Denise) of Mililani; his siblings, Teruo Takeya of San Francisco, Herbert Takeya of Kauai, Gale Takeya of Hilo and Myrtle Hara of Hilo; and his daughters, Ceries Parmentier of Pennsylvania and Lori Parmentier of Arizona. He is also survived by one granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
