He was predeceased by : his parents, James Nakoa Sr. and Marjorie Ann Stibbard; his sister Anita Nakoa; and his brother-in-law Tyson Kamaka. He is survived by : his wife Tishya Nakoa; his children, Thayne W. M. Nakoa, Jeremy Brown, Iesha Buyat (Jhordan) and Desire Lum (Bryson); his stepmother Brenda Kivalu; his mother-in-law Charleen Cadiente; his siblings, Jason Nakoa (Gem), James Nakoa Jr. (Tara), Pancho Cowell (Hitomi), Bill Kivalu (Diana), Brandon Witt, Doreen Brown (Richard), Desiree Nakoa, Darcy Kamaka and Napela Miyahira (Craig); and his grandchild Divine Lum. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
