He is survived by: his wife Masako Nishiyama of Hilo, HI; his daughter Jhana Eddings (David); and his siblings, Karl De Rooy (Judy) of Texas, Jake De Rooy and Margaret Quel (Jorge). He is also survived by two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel (199 Wainaku St, Hilo, HI 96720). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery (110 Laimana St, Hilo, HI 96720).
