He was predeceased by : his wife Milagros Sarmiento; and his brothers, Prudencio, Pablo and Pedro Sarmiento. He is survived by : his son Ian Sarmiento (Anne); his grandchildren, Julius Sarmiento, Iana Sarmiento and Maria Sarmiento; and his siblings, Sabina Garcia, Veronica Futalan, Sotera Toledo, Leonila Sarmiento and Nicasio Sarmiento.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 8:30 AM at the Valley of the Temples Main Chapel (47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park (47-200 Kahekili Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744).
