We announce the death of Frederick D. Comer of Honolulu, Hawaii, born in Tampa, Florida, who passed away on August 23, 2026, at the age of 55. Frederick will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his father Fletcher J. Comer, Sr.; his grandparents, Verna, Fred Ashwood, Sr., Albert and Mittie Comer; his aunt Rossie Ashwood; and his uncles, Jessie Comer, Leroy Ashwood and Richard Comer.
He is survived by: his sons, Darius Comer and Devyn Comer; his mother Brenda Comer; his siblings, Wanda Kinnard, Fletcher J. Comer, Jr. and Michael Comer (Celeste Comer); and his aunts and uncles, Irma Guillory, Cynthia Salisbury, Joseph Comer, McArthur Comer, Fred Ashwood, Jr. and Albert Comer, Jr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other beloved relatives and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (3000 N 29th St, Tampa, FL 33605). A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at the Florida National Cemetery.
