He is survived by: his children, Michelle Rene Tavares and William Patrick Tavares; his significant other Edrienne Morgan Pruse; and his sisters, Therese Wendt Marquez and Greta Ann Kailiehu (Joe). He is also survived by six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
