We are sad to announce that on November 3, 2025, at the age of 83, Lorna Marlene Kaiuwailani Akima of Kamuela, Hawaii, born in Wailuku, Hawaii passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Lorna may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She is survived by: her husband William Akima of Kamuela; her children, Willette "Kala" Akima-Akau (Eddie) of Kawaihae, William Akima (Ululani) of Kamuela and Jolynn Dean of Kamuela; and her grandchildren, William "Amas" Akima, III, Shawnette Akima, Alika Akima, Shauncette Akima, Dansette Correa, Kekoa Guerrero, Nalu Akau and Zion Wong-Yuen. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Catholic Church (65-1235 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI 96743). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
