He was predeceased by: his wife Hideko Endo. He is survived by: his son Alex Endo; his daughter-in-law Dr. Victoria Tobar; his granddaughters, Alexa and Ava; his daughter Rosemary; his son-in-law Darrell Chen; and his sister Yone Sakamaki. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
