We are sad to announce that on August 15, 2022, at the age of 58, Derick Kembo Macanas of Pepeekeo, Hawaii, born in Honolulu, Hawaii passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by : his close friend Tanya Bannister of Pepeekeo; his children, Abelon Kai Macanas of Mt. View, Shyla Benevedes (David) of South Carolina, Makamae Anderson (Matt Camp) of Waimea, Ka'imi Anderson of Laupahoehoe, Kale Anderson of Laupahoehoe, Chyane Pacheco of Kona and Chelsea Pacheco of Mt. View; and his siblings, Delbert Macanas (Alice) of Wahiawa, Oahu, Tyson Macanas (Kuualoha) of Hakalau, Sherry Macanas (Craig Tabata) of Hilo and Tiare Macanas of Puna. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
