Gary Bonewitz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Bonewitz of Ackley, Iowa, who passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVerne Bonewitz (Hosch) and Joseph William Bonewitz; and his sister Mary Struthoff. He is survived by: his children, Rita Foubert, Mike Bonewitz (Tara), Kathy Bonewitz, John Bonewitz, Barbara Bonewitz and Amber Bonewitz; his stepsons, Adam Archer and Chris Archer; his siblings, Mike Bonewitz, Steve Bonewitz, David Bonewitz, Bob Bonewitz, Connie Galpin, Jean Boss, Joan Bonewitz and Sue Harrenstein (Brent); Nola Bonewitz. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice or the American Heart Association.
