He was predeceased by: his parents, Claus DeBerg and Cornelia DeBerg (Harken); his parents-in-law, Kermit and Ruby Ringeon; his siblings, Dewanye DeBerg (Delores), Willard DeBerg, Newlyn DeBerg, Trenton DeBerg and Norrell Uhlenhopp; and his brothers-in-law, Marv Ellingson, Bob Nelson, Bob Ringoen (Ann), Jack Ringoen (Jeanie), Marvin Ringoen and Mark Ringoen.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ringeon; his children, Terri Bonewitz and Troyce DeBerg; his grandchildren, Braden Bonewitz, Brenna Bonewitz and Addison Lichtenauer; his sister Corliss Ellingson; and his siblings-in-law, Darlene DeBerg, Pat DeBerg, Sharryl DeBerg, Jean Nelson, Sherri Carpenter (Richard) and Merle Uhlenhopp. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (1300 4th Ave, Ackley, IA 50601). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
