Carol Ann Hackney Obituary

We are sad to announce that on August 26, 2022, at the age of 86, Carol Ann Hackney (Adel, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parent Forun Newberry; her children, Barb Wicks (Dick) of Adel, IA, Doug Hackney (Stephanie) of Georgetown, TX and Jeff Hackney (Michele) of Temple, TX; her grandchildren, Matthew Wicks of Urbandale, IA, Melissa Doyle (Sean) of Dexter, IA, Adam Hackney (Carrie) of Morristown, MN, Amber Holeman-Richardson of St Paul, MN, Vance Hackney (Alex) of Georgetown, TX, Chari Verespej and Shaun Verespej; her great grandchildren, Madison Wicks, Faith, Blakley Doyle, Madalynn, Hanna, Tyler Hackney, Nakeya Richardson, Julia and Troy Holeman; her siblings, Brenda Damman, Wanda Lammey (Dick) and Rick Strickland (Marsha); her sister-in-law Linda Larson (Doug); her mother Lois Powell Newberry Strickland; and her stepfather Zane Strickland. She was also cherished by her sisters while her mother.

In lieu of flowers the family would encourage memorials be made in Carol's name to either Spurgeon Manor or Faith Lutheran Church.
