He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gilmer and Grace Gilmer (Crouse); and his siblings, Kathryn Reed, Thomas Gilmer and Robert Gilmer.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Rush (John) of Ottawa, KS, Heather Gilmer of Garnett, KS and Edward Gilmer (Amanda) of Valley Center, KS; and his brother William Gilmer (Marcia) of Norwalk, IA.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org) or Panther Creek Church of the Brethren.
