He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Thomas Ripperger and Reva Arlene Ripperger (Shawler); his daughter Peggy Woodsmall; his brothers, Dick and Steve Ripperger; his in-laws, Gene and Wilma Stewart; and his brothers-in-law, Turner Davis, Raymond Stewart and Rick Landers.
He is survived by: his wife Rayma Ripperger of Afton; his children, Julia Tilson of Leavenworth, KS, Tami Arnold (Randy) of Humeston and Alex Ripperger (Candace) of Afton; his sister Kathy Davis of Horseheads; his siblings-in-law, Sherry Ripperger of Des Moines, Barb Stewart of Lee Summit, MO., Ramona Landers of Lorimor and Robert Stewart; his grandchildren, Aaron Tilson, Cody Tilson (Allie), Elijah Tilson (Caleb Thornton), Sarah Woodsmall, Shane Woodsmall, Chet Arnold, Cali Arnold, Kacie Gordon (Will) and Seth Ripperger; and his great grandchildren, Dax, Amelia, Hadlee and Harvey.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powers Funeral Home - Afton (612 N Dodge St, Afton, IA 50830). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family to be determined.
