He was predeceased by: his parents, George Colt and Neva Colt (Elliott); his wife Vedeane Blanchard; his son Mark Colt; and his brothers, Gene and George.

He is survived by: his sons, Michael Colt (Lucy) of Akron and Todd Colt (Tammy) of Sioux Center, IA; his daughter-in-law Carmon Colt of Frederic, MI; his grandchildren, Christopher Colt (Emily), Keith Colt (Jaime), Nicole Turney (Kelly), Lindsey Flewwellin, Jeremie Colt (Katie), Tarah Kooima (Joe) and Tana Stewart (Thomas); and his sister-in-law Mary Colt. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
