Lloyd Darrell Borchers Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2025, at the age of 89, Lloyd Darrell Borchers of Akron, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Borchers and Beatrice Borchers; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Wilhelmina Renken; and his siblings, Myron Borchers and Maureen Laux (John).
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Renken of Akron, IA; his son Russell Borchers; his grandsons, Eric and Alex; his daughter Tina Reuter (Chuck) of Le Mars, IA; his grandchildren, Lynsey and David Hanson; his great grandchild Birdie; his grandsons, Zachary Hanson and Jacob Hanson (Allison, family: Leighton, Boyd); his daughter Gina Terpstra (Scott) of Akron, IA; his grandson Jack; and his sister-in-law Inez Borchers of Craig, IA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Rexwinkel Funeral Home (601 Torbert Blvd, Akron, IA 51001). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery (22543 C16, Akron, IA 51001). A reception will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Heeren-McHale-Wilken American Legion Post 724 (305 Oak St, Le Mars, IA 51031).
