He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Small and Grace Small (Stinton); his great grandchild Noah Phipps; and his siblings, William Small, Karen Small, Ivyl Small (Phyllis), Eldon Small, Vernard Small (Claudia), Kenneth Small (Evelyn), Roscoe Small (Evelyn), Fay Small (Berma), Clinton'Buck'Small, Babe Blum (Basil), Wilma Baldwin (Lyle), Ramona Govig (Bob) and Clayton'Murph' Small (Marilyn).
He is survived by: his wife Edith Milbrodt of Akron, IA; his children, Miriam Phipps (Dude), James'Mike' Small (Paula) of Laurel, DE and Joel Small (Sandy) of Hinton, IA; his grandchild Nate Phipps (Aftan); his great grandchildren, Aidan, Lola, Lincoln and Edie; his grandchild Jamee Adams (Kelvin); his great grandchildren, Jordyn and Kolton; his grandchildren, Alexa Phipps and James'Little Mike' Small (Megan); his great grandchildren, Mikey and Evan; his grandchildren, Hannah Grace Small (Bobby), Kaylee Baker (Trent), Kenzie Small and Jay Small; his brother Gayland Small (Selma) of Akron, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Jo Small (Eldon) of Akron, IA and Kay Small (Buck) of Dunlap, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
