He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Shelquist and Barbara Shelquist (Gray); and his brother-in-law Jimmie Rowley. He is survived by: his siblings, Galin Shelquist of Albia and Marilyn Rowley of Albia; his nephews, Tyler Shelquist (Kourtni) of Oskaloosa and Bobby Shelquist of Albia; his niece Molly Mullen (Andy) of Albia; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jace, Grady, Hattie Shelquist, Gracie Shelquist, Callen, Freya and Makenzie Mullen. He is also survived by several cousins and many life-long friends and neighbors.
A memorial has been established to Service Chapel Cemetery.
