It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diane Gay Whitson of Albia, Iowa, who passed away on May 27, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles "Pete" Smith and Margaret "June" Smith (Gay); her husband Phil; her sister Pamela Rae; her parents-in-law, Cecil and Alberta Whitson; and her brothers-in-law, Jerry Whitson, Steve Whitson and Jim Plum.
She is survived by: her children, Cheri Kasella (Jim) and Chris (Gia Tornabene); her grandchildren, Charlie and Olivia Kasella; her sisters, Hope Brouk (Don) and Faith Carter (Darrell); and her siblings-in-law, Larry Whitson (Phyllis), Carolyn Plum and Wayne Whitson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
