She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Forbes and Pearl Forbes (Roskamp); and her son Michael Faron Sanderson. She is survived by: her daughters, Julie Kelsey, Bonnie Knuckey (Daniel) and Anita Sanderson (William); her grandchildren, Erin Sanderson, Michael Sanderson, Dannie Knuckey (Andrew Mask) and Benjaman Knuckey (Jean); her great grandchildren, Zachary Sanderson, David Sanderson, Dylan Mask, Caitlynn Sherlock, Kevin Sherlock, Cody Sherlock, Hailey Mask, Hayden Mask and Drew Mask; and her siblings, Frances Smith (Harrison) and Paul Forbes. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (101 S Center St, Marshalltown, IA 50158).
In Lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn's name may be made to Iowa River Hospice Home or the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown.
