He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lee and Cathleen Lucille Shaffer (Powel). He is survived by: his wife Patty; his daughters, Jessica Cantonwine (Mike) of Marion, Angie Meierotto (Brad) of West Point and Emily Shaffer of Marion; his grandchildren, Dalton, Addy, Breckon, Brandt and Olivia; and his brothers, Doug Shaffer (Janelle) of Cedar Rapids and David Shaffer (DeAnna) of Coggon, Iowa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials in Dennis's memory may be directed to the Alburnett Fire Department, Center Point Ambulance Service, or the Alburnett Lions Club Benevolence fund.
