She was predeceased by: her parents, Morris Phelps and Evelyn Phelps (Blankenship); her children, Shelly Gee and Jeffrey Rick; her grandson Tobias; her great grandchild Laiklee; and her brothers-in-law, Dennis Umbdenstock and Dick Wellington.

She is survived by: her husband Chester Schantz of Alburnett; her daughters, Rhonda Price (Tarrel) of Urbana and Lori Carter (Jamie) of Independence, Iowa; her stepchildren, Amy Brown (Steve) of Vinton, Andrew Schantz (Michelle) of Frankfort and Aaron Schantz (Jana) of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Judy Phelps of Cedar Rapids, Janet Umbdenstock of Urbana and Joy Wellington of Arizona; and her friend Terry Becker. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established at the Alburnett Christian Church.
