He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Monson (Ole) and Pearl Monson (McCoy); and his sister Margie. He is survived by: his daughter Kelley Renae (Bill) of Carlisle; his wife Deloris (Dee); his daughter Tammy (Mark); his grandchildren, Brandon Oxley (Lisa) of Nevada, Jeremy Oxley (Courtney) of Nevada, Chantel Frerk (Kyle) of Nevada, Lauren Friedrichs (Kristen) and Grant Kelley (Danielle) of Des Moines; his brother Keith Monson (Judy) of Indianola; and his brother-in-law Gale Smith of Iowa Falls. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Nevada First United Methodist Church (1036 7th St, Nevada, IA 50201). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (1036 7th St, Nevada, IA 50201).
In lieu of flowers memorial money will be donated to Women at the Well Prison Ministry at Mitchellville, Embrace Iowa, and the Nevada United Methodist church.
