Phyllis R. Simons Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 25, 2025, at the age of 89, Phyllis R. Simons (Algona, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Elsbecker and Mabel Elsbecker (Wilhelmi); her husband Ralph Simons of John's Catholic Church; her daughter-in-law Theresa Simons; and her siblings, Jack, Jim, Chuck Elsbecker, Beryl Bisenius, Eloise Rees, Carol Keith and Cleo Elsbecker.
She is survived by: her children, Judith Gonzales, Michelle Schoby (Bob) of Blair, Nick Simons (late Theresa) of Grimes, Melinda Erpelding (Mark) of Algona and David Simons (Mara) of Urbandale; and her sisters, Gail Cowan (Jim) of Algona and Linda Veak (Bernie) of Adel. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - Presentation Center (715 E North St, Algona, IA 50511). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Parish ~ St. Cecelia (715 E North St, Algona, IA 50511). The inurnment will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calvary Cemetery (2000 US-18, Algona, IA 50511).
