He was predeceased by: his son Bradley Bitterman; his parents, Roy Gerald Bitterman and Bonnie Bitterman Willemsen; and his stepfather Marvin Willemsen. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bitterman; his daughters, Angela "Angie" Anderson (Wayne) and April Breig (Jason); his grandchildren, Bryce Anderson, Brendan Anderson (Sydney), Hannah Brecht (Zach), Matthew Tufano and Nathanial Tufano; his great grandchild Ember Anderson; his siblings, Linda Peterson (Ron), Bob Willemsen (Cindy), Susan Knapp (Tom), Judith Willemsen and Jennifer Benda (Chris); and his daughter-in-law Tara.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the TLC Quilters as acts of kindness, shared in Rick's memory, reflect the love, faith and giving that defined his life.
