He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Baas and Rose Baas (Schmidt); his brother Ron Baas (Charlene); his niece Nicole Baas; his nephew Jason Black; and his brother-in-law Francis "Whimp" Metzen.
He is survived by: his son Steven Baas (Stefanie) of Maquoketa; his grandchildren, Cole, Ryan and Kade Baas; his siblings, Lavonne Richter (Les) of Toledo, Russell Baas (Sheryl) of Yuma, Carol Menke (Joe) of Adel, Kenny Baas (Helen) of Council Bluffs, Mavis Black (Bill) of Algona, Marcia Kenne (Paul) of Algona, Laura Olson (Tom) of Fort Dodge, Sandra Baas of Colorado Springs, Ed Baas (Tom) of Algona, Wanda Baas (Lisa) of Finlayson and Judy Baas of Fort Dodge; and his aunts, Verna Penning of Wesley and Cyrilla Marti of Algona. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
