She was predeceased by : her parents, Nick Bormann and Anna Bormann (Schmalen); her husband Merle Laubenthal; and her siblings, Alfred Bormann, Lorene Frideres, Eleanor Thilges, Maxine Knecht, Cathleen Thilges, James Bormann and Ralph Bormann.

She is survived by : her children, Anne Laubenthal (Earl Rollinger) of Marshalltown and Alan Laubenthal (Sandra); her grandchildren, Aric and Nick of Whittemore; her daughter Amy Gallagher (Mark); her grandchildren, Gavin, Noelle and Will of Johnston; her daughter Ava Allen (Matthew); her grandchildren, Caleb, Declan and Reese of Naperville, IL; her daughter Anita Benton (Jay); her grandchildren, Jack, Drew and Annie of Naperville, IL; her son Andrew Laubenthal (Mindy); her grandchildren, Kaya and Layne of Algona; her brother Bill Bormann (Lois) of West Bend; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Bormann of Algona and Gert Bormann of Humboldt. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
