It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lee Wordes of Allison, Iowa, who passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandson Chrishun; his stepfather Albert Ulrichs; his brother-in-law Terry Swaggerty; his grandparents, James, Marilyn Niedert, Jennings and Beulah Wordes; his nephew Tyler Swaggerty; his uncles, Cecil Sommerfelt and Raymond Murphy; his aunt Georgia Hovenga; and his cousins, Jay McIntyre and Billy Murphy.

He is survived by: his mother Lori Johnette Sommerfelt of Clarksville; his fiancée Maggie Wordes of Allison; his fiancée's child PJ Nolan (Kristi) of Shell Rock; his daughters, Ashlee Craig of Waterloo, Shyanne Wordes of Waterloo and Lilee Wordes of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Braxton, Ashun and LaTanya; his father Dean Wordes of Allison; his sisters, Cathy Swaggerty of Traer and DeAnn Mishler of Clarksville; his brother-in-law Mick Mishler of Waterloo; his uncle Marc Heuchlin (Candy); his nieces and nephews, Megan Swaggerty (Noah Buss), Brandon, Jade Mishler and Allan Mishler; his cousins, Raymond "Boo" Murphy and James Murphy; his friends, Monte Apfel and Roy Fredericksen; and his pet Jack.
