She was predeceased by: her husband Nicholas S. Romano; her parents, Francesco Sassatelli and Katherine Sassatelli; her brother Ferdinand Sassatelli; and her siblings-in-law, Nello Stefani and Joanne Sassatelli.
She is survived by: her sons, Joseph (Janie), Nicholas (Kate), Mark and John (Lisa); her sister-in-law Theresa (Francis Schlueter); and her sister Genevieve Stefani. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Rosary Christ the King Catholic Church (5711 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (5711 SW 9th St, Des Moines, IA 50315).
