He is survived by: his wife Sharon (Johnston); his children, Doyle Ables II of Altoona, Pam Phillips (Randy) of Runnells, David Ables (Lori) of Otsego and Elaine Stewart (Jeff) of Ankeny; and his grandchildren, Danielle Parsons, Kirsten Czapla, Paige Stewart, Riley Stewart, David Ables, Sam Ables, Nick Ables, Zach Phillips and Tanner Phillips. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
