She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlos McCollum Rauer and Vera Lorene Kirk; her husband Irvin Austin Barron; and her siblings, Neva Rose Cunningham, Janet Kay Bates, Larry "Bo" Rauer and Terry Alexis Murphy.
She is survived by: her daughter June; her grandson Alex; her children, Kim Barron (Shelley) of Marshalltown, Iowa, Rev. Gretchen Barron of Decatur, Illinois, Kirk Barron (Cindy) of Dubuque, Iowa, Kit Barron (Christi) of Des Moines, Iowa and Katrina BarronMiller (Jerry) of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Ame, Molly, Jesscera, Joshua Alex and Bethany; and her siblings, Connie Ann Rauer of Missouri, Donna Lee Gibson of Missouri and Jon Michael Rauer of Missouri. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Altoona Christian Church (2890 1st Ave S, Altoona, IA 50009). A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
